The NAELA Foundation supports strategic litigation to establish and defend the rights of older adults and people with disabilities.
The NAELA Foundation is dedicated to advancing legal services for older adults and people with disabilities through innovative research, impactful scholarship and education, and strategic support for litigation.
Our Work
The NAELA Foundation’s “Elevating Voices” project is educating policymakers about the devastating impact of Medicaid Estate Recovery (MER) on individuals who are faced with the loss of their family home because a loved one received long-term care.
The Foundation awards grants to NAELA members and chapters who litigate issues that are of importance to older adults and people with disabilities. It also joins cases as Amicus Curiae.
The NAELA Foundation has established two scholarship programs to expand and diversify the pipeline of highly qualified attorneys in elder and special needs law.
