About Practice
Chris McCarthy has been practicing in the field of Elder Law since 1999. Chris is a Certified Elder Law Attorney, and a member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners. He has served two terms as the President of the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and one term as Chair of the Elder Law Section of the Virginia Bar Association. Chris received his undergraduate degree from Georgetown University and his law degree from the University of Richmond. Prior to law school, he served as an Armor officer in the United States Army, with assignments in Germany and Washington. Chris is a frequent CLE lecturer for organizations such as Virginia CLE and the Virginia Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. Virginia Lawyers Weekly honored Chris as a “Leader in the Law” for expanding and elevating the practice of elder law and providing leadership in the legal profession and service to the community.
