NAELA Journal Editorial Board
NAELA Journal is a peer-reviewed, scholarly publication that provides a substantive, in-depth look at topics of interest in elder and special needs law. Most articles are 4,000–10,000 words, including citations, and cover a wide range of topics from Medicaid to mental health and aging. The journal is published twice a year.
Primary Responsibilities (Time Commitment 1-3 Hours per Month)
- Participate in monthly Zoom calls. Meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
- Identify substantive article topics of importance to elder and special needs law and find potential authors.
- Edit article submissions, working closely with authors to bring high-quality articles to publication.
- Write/co-write one or more articles for publication.
If you have interest and experience in writing and editing, we encourage you to apply. A law review background is helpful, but not required. NAELA is seeking editors from diverse membership segments that include different geographic, generational, and practice backgrounds.
How to Apply
Please send a statement of interest and your resume to NAELA Journal staff liaison Susan Simolunas. Include your education, professional background, primary areas of expertise, how many years in each specialty, and prior experience writing for or editing publications/law review.
