2019 Annual Conference

Steer Yourself to Ft. Worth for the 2019 Annual Conference

By Letha McDowell, CELA, and Wesley Wright, CELA

Technical and critical business skill-based sessions for elder and special needs law practices.
May 9–11, 2019, Ft. Worth, Texas

Plan to join us in Fort Worth, Texas, where the best in elder and special needs law convene at the 2019 Annual Conference May 9–11. Learn how to increase practice revenue by anticipating customer needs and increasing customer satisfaction after attending the award-winning Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center session, “Memorable Customer Service.”

With 23 distinctive educational sessions and plenty of opportunities to exchange ideas with other outstanding elder and special needs law attorneys, NAELA’s two-day 2019 Annual Conference is specifically designed to furnish you with the tools you need to advance your practice and address your challenges. Sessions at the Annual Conference will cover topics from marketing your practice and how to solve common nursing home problems, to decanting issues and lessons learned from planning under the new VA rules. NAELA Past Presidents will moderate a discussion of the most significant cases decided in 2018 (always a crowd favorite).

In addition to the 2019 Annual Conference, on Wednesday May 8, NAELA will be offering a full-day, interactive, intensive program, “Trusts, Trusts and Trusts” (separate registration required). Using a hypothetical matter, participants will analyze a client’s situation and recommend appropriate trust(s) and incorporate proper language in drafting the trusts. The full-day program will concentrate on the following trusts: 1) Revocable Trusts with Pour Over Wills; 2) Irrevocable Income Only Trusts; 3) VA Trusts; 4) Trusts to Hold Retirement Funds (when beneficiary is a minor); 5) Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts; and 6) Special/Supplemental Needs Trusts.

The 2019 Annual Conference also includes time to network with and gain insights from experienced colleagues. Your conference registration includes access to all sessions, the Exhibit Hall, Welcome Reception, and conference materials including post-conference access to all audio-recorded sessions. Networking continues at Friday night’s off-site concert and dinner at Billy Bob’s (separate registration and fee).

More information including full program agenda, lodging details, and online registration can be found at www.NAELA.org/2019Annual.

We look forward to seeing you in historical Fort Worth.
