Elder Law Ethics (2009)
Session from 2009 Introduction to Special Needs and Elder Law presented by Charles P. Sabatino, JD. Difficult professional ethical issues arise frequently in providing legal services to elderly clients, especially regarding capacity, identifying the client in the context of a family network, conflicts of interest, and confientiality. Using a series of thought-provoking written vignettes, Mr. Sabatino examines key ethical issues in Elder Law. The NAELA Aspirational Standards for the Practice of Elder Law is also introduced.
Elder Law in an Era of Change: Expanding Your Practice
Proposals capping federal dollars to Medicaid and calling for increased program flexibility at the state level will no doubt change how many practice elder law. This workshop helps practitioners stay abreast of the latest regulatory and policy changes that impact planning as well as help attorneys explore alternative aspects to pursue.
