Graham-Cassidy ACA Repeal Bill
Last week, Congress introduced the Graham-Cassidy ACA Repeal Bill, which would essentially turn the ACA's insurance subsidies and tax credits as well as federal Medicaid funding into state block grants. The bill would also set a Medicaid block grant or a Per Capita Cap in 2020 with the inflation index set at CPI medical for children and pregnant women and CPI medical +1 percent for seniors and disabled populations.
NAELA continues to track Republican efforts to repeal the ACA which could have a negative impact on the millions of Americans who must use the Medicaid program for their acute care and long-term services and supports. NAELA continues to work with our allies to educate Capitol Hill on the importance of the Medicaid program and how proposed changes could eliminate the support that so many Americans rely upon.
