Social Security Celebrates 83rd Anniversary
NAELA Members Proudly Serve Beneficiaries of Longtime Public Benefits Programs

Washington, DC — August 14 marks the 83rd anniversary of the Social Security Act. President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the Social Security Act in 1935, providing economic security for workers when they retired. Today, Social Security provides benefits to millions of retirees, disabled workers, and their families.

National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) member attorneys are well-equipped to help older Americans, people with disabilities, and their families make better financial choices that will allow them to meet their individual goals as well as navigate the complexities of Social Security as they approach retirement.
