NAELA Celebrates National Elder Law Month in May
Attorneys for Older Americans and People with Special Needs Educate Their Local Communities on Legal Options and Available Resources

Washington, DC — The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) established May as National Elder Law Month as a way to educate older Americans and their families on living trusts, powers of attorney, physical and financial elder abuse, Medicare, Medicaid, long-term care insurance, and other important issues. This annual event is an opportunity for NAELA member attorneys to meet face-to-face with their neighbors in the community to answer questions on timely issues for older Americans and their families.

Many NAELA members will be out in their communities in May:
•    Conducting a Living Will/Health Care Proxy Day;
•    Presenting a seminar at the local senior or community center;
•    Providing pro bono services; or
•    Lecturing at a law school.

To receive a free NAELA brochure: “Questions and Answers When Looking For an Elder or Special Needs Law Attorney,” contact Communications Manager Abby Matienzo by email or phone at 703-942-5711 #230.
