Lori Rook was named as a Rising Star by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly in its annual Women’s Justice Awards.  A rising star award is given to a female lawyer 40  and younger or in the first 10 years of practice who have made a difference in the justice system or the profession and who appears on a path toward even greater accomplishments. As a note, her law partner, Jessica Kruse, was previously honored for the same award. (April 26, 2017)

Kathy Pryor will be honored as the 2017 recipient of the Darrel Tillar Mason Excellence in Advocacy Award, presented by the disAbility Law Center of Virginia Foundation. This award is presented to an individual or group whose work embodies the spirit of the mission of the disAbility Law Center, namely to fight abuse and neglect and to encourage people with disabilities to have choice, independence, and inclusion in all aspects of life. Lawrence A. Friedman received the New Jersey State Bar Association's 2016 Distinguished Legislative Service Award for helping to enact the Uniform Trust Code (“UTC”) in New Jersey. The Distinguished Legislative Service Award is the Bar Association’s highest honor for noteworthy legislative service while the UTC codifies over 100 years of trust law into one comprehensive statute that is largely uniform over many states. David D. Nesbit and the staff of Keystone Elder Law P.C. published a book, Long Term Care Guide: Essential Tips For Solving the Elder Care Puzzle. The staff has written weekly articles for their local newspaper for more than four years. A selection of those articles was the basis for their book, available on Amazon. Many of the articles that discuss law are most relevant in Pennsylvania, although the concepts often transfer outside of their jurisdiction. Most of the caregiving articles generally apply across state lines. The firm will donate $1 per book that is sold to the Alzheimer’s Association. (December 9, 2016)
