Letha Sgritta McDowell is licensed to practice in both the Commonwealth of Virginia and the State of North Carolina, and she actively practices in both states with the Hook Law Center. Ms. McDowell is a Certified Elder Law Attorney by the National Elder Law Foundation, a Board-Certified Specialist in Elder and Special Needs Law by the North Carolina State Bar, and a member of NAELA’s Council of Advanced Practitioners. Ms. McDowell is a member the Virginia State NAELA Chapter and is on the Board of Directors for the North Carolina State NAELA Chapter. She is also a contributing author to the Special Needs Trust Handbook and on the editorial board of Trusts & Estates Magazine. In addition to professional organizations, Ms. McDowell is active in her home community of the Outer Banks of North Carolina and teaches fitness classes at the Outer Banks Family YMCA.
