Session from 2009 Public Benefits and Guardianship Institute presented by Donna R. Bashaw, CELA, CAP; Donald D. Vanarelli, CELA, CAP; and Marta J. Williger, JD, CELA. Explore ways and means for guardians to plan for public benefits on behalf of their wards. Topics will include court-sanctioned transfers of assets, challenges of dealing with public agencies, and procedures for seeking out appropriate public benefits. The panel presentation will be followed by a workshop-style directed discussion led by panel members and leaders from the Guardianship/Capacity Section.
