Educational Offerings

Live Events
The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) meetings offer an unparallelled educational and networking opportunity for Elder and Special Needs practitioners to learn, share and network. Each year, NAELA offers two live meetings; our Annual Meeting and Summit.

The
Annual Conference is held in the spring of each year and provides members an opportunity to stay current on a variety of issues impacting any Elder and Special Needs attorney. The emphasis of the Annual Conference is emerging research, changes in the law and best practices and connecting NAELA members across the country with other NAELA experts.

The NAELA Summit is an exceptional opportunity to actively participate by applying session topics to real life situations and documents. Designed to tackle more complicated legal situations, the new Summit engages attendees as they break into small groups. With two days of active learning, attendees come away with applied practical knowledge. Choose from three-hour Immersion Sessions, which dive deep into real-life case situations or challenging office practices as they unfold. You will be faced with making decisions and dealing with the consequences of those decisions or one-hour Breakout Sessions, designed to sharpen the tools in your legal practice toolkit. Designed to tackle the most challenging Elder and Special Needs issues, the Summit format is collaborative both socially, as well as instructionally. Both Immersion and Breakout Sessions are designed to support communal learning through various active learning techniques.

Virtual Meetings

For your convenience NAELA offers virtual meetings including webinars that feature hot topics relevant to Elder and Special practitioners and Lunch & Learns that allow discussions with authors on their published articles. Broaden your understanding of the Elder and Special Needs Law field while never having to leave the office.

Online Education Center
The NAELA Store features an array of topics recorded from live and virtual meetings to reinforce fundamental concepts and current trends in the field.

Continuing Legal Education (CLE)
NAELA is committed to offering the highest quality continuing legal education and professional developmen
t opportunities. NAELA's live educational programming covers the spectrum in Elder and Special Needs Law. NAELA works with State Bar Associations to preregister live educational programming, so attendees can collect the required credits. Please contact our Meetings Coordinator for specific questions regarding our virtual programming and CLE support as each state has various requirements for live and virtual meetings.
