Serving Clients with Diminished Capacity (2016)

NAELA Summit 2016
Learn how to choose and utilize a variety of assessment tools used by practitioners throughout the United States. Recognize the ethical boundaries associated with prospective, current and former clients with diminished capacity. Understand the ways that communication styles make change with aging and cognitive decline and craft interviewing techniques that take these changes into account. Recognize that different interview techniques are needed for the different stages of representation from the initial collection of information through the counseling phase to the planning stage that engages the client to the extent possible in all aspects of the planning process. Presented by A. Frank Johns, LLM, CELA, CAP and Professor Roberta K. Flowers, Stetson University College of Law
