Who are the members of CAP?

A member of the Council of Advanced Practitioners is an attorney who has been nominated and selected by his or her peers — experienced Elder Law and Special Needs Planning attorneys — to be part of the Council as a result of their commitment and contribution to their clients and the ethical, high-quality practice of Elder Law and Special Needs Planning.

History of Service

CAP members have a long history of contributing to NAELA and the elder law and special needs planning profession. Whether mentoring attorneys new to the field, writing articles for the NAELA News or the NAELA Journal, or presenting at national conferences, these advanced practitioners never fail to step up and share their knowledge and expertise.

The NAELA Council of Advanced Practitioners was established on July 8, 2005, by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys Board of Directors in order to provide benefits that meet the educational and marketing needs of Advanced Practitioners. Participation in the Council is by invitation only. Membership in CAP represents the pinnacle of achievement that elder and special needs planning attorneys strive to attain.
