Virtual Meeting Platform Technical Requirements

Attendees will access the event through a digital platform. No additional software or application downloads needed if using a computer. Please be sure you have reviewed the technical settings below before the day of the meeting to ensure you can connect without issue.

Supported Browser: NAELAs virtual meeting platform supports the most current versions of the popular browsers Chrome, Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Firefox. Chrome is the preferred browser.

Mobile Devices: The virtual platform Evensential is designed with a responsive interface that is mobile friendly.

Group Discussions/Networking: NAELA will be taking advantage of Zoom breakout rooms for small group discussions and networking opportunities. If you would like to actively participate, please have Zoom version 5.0.5. To learn more about Zoom versions HERE

Permissions : Users will also need to make sure that their computer’s camera, microphone, and sound are enabled and permissions granted in the browser for breakout room video chat sessions. Please check with your IT department if you are using a Microsoft Windows-based PC/device. Typically, users will be prompted ‘allow’ for these permissions when entering a room. If the user selects ‘deny’ to these permissions, they will be unable to see, hear, or speak to others in a video chat room.

Q; After registering – what should I expect in terms of getting access for the event?

Your registration process will generate unique ID and automatically add you to the event and generate an invitation for you to sign into the event’s system. Make sure that the email address you associated with the event is the one you use when accessing.

IMPORTANT – you must access your event account through that invitation in order to attend the event. It is highly recommended that you do this prior to the start of the event to ensure your access is not delayed.

Q: Do I need to use a computer, or can I access with a mobile device or cell phone?

Most up to date computers and mobile devices such as laptops, desktops, and handheld tablets are capable of running the virtual event for you.  If you choose to use a mobile device to participate in the 2021 Annual Conference, you will need to download the Eventsential app from the App Store to your Apple or Google device and select NAELA’s 2021 Annual Conference.  Your mobile device allows you to watch sessions, connect with speakers, message other attendees and connect with exhibitors/sponsors.

Q: Can I share my virtual conference login information with other members of my team?

No.  Once you registered for the event, an account is created specific to your email and linked to only to you.  You may access the event with multiple devices (laptop and phone) but they are linked to your unique account.  The CLE credits earned, the questions asked, and the polling conducted within that single login session are all tied to the account of the individual that purchased the virtual event.

Q: How do I attend the sessions?

Once you have activated your account in the event platform using the "Access Event On Desktop" button included in your initial invitation, you will be automatically logged in and granted access to the event including schedule, access to sessions, materials, and exhibitor activities.  When you want to join each day’s events, simply click on the "Access Event On Desktop" link and you will see the current day’s schedule of events. Click on the session you’d like to join and then click on the ZOOM link on the session  detail page to join the session at the appropriate start time.  You will now be able to access the evaluation for the session under the "Resource" tab. Repeat this process for each session you wish to attend throughout the event.

Q: How do I ask a presenter a question during their session?

Presenters will be live online during their presentations. We encourage you to ask questions at any time during the session using the Q&A feature in Zoom.  The question & answer (Q&A) feature for Zoom webinars allows attendees to ask questions during the webinar, and for the panelists, co-hosts, and host to answer their questions. Additionally, attendees can upvote/prioritize other questions already asked. You can upvote a question by clicking the thumbs up icon. Questions that are upvoted will be sorted by number of upvotes.  You should be able to use the Q&A function on the mobile app, as well.

Q: What about asking other attendees questions during educational sessions? Can I chat with them as well?

Yes, and we encourage you to do so using the Zoom Chat function.  As an attendee in the webinar, you can chat with other attendees.  In your controls at the bottom window, click or tap "Chat". When you click on chat, the chat window will appear. It will be on the right if you are not in full screen. If you are in full screen, it will appear in a window that you can move around your screen. To send to everyone, type your message and press "Enter" to send it. TO send the message to a select few, click on the drop down menu next to "To" and select who you would like to send the message to.

Q: Will I have access to all of the educational sessions?

Yes, your registration includes access to all 17 educational sessions, networking events over the three half-days plus the Tuesday evening, March 23, welcome fun night. This one-hour reception will include a game format allowing attendees to interact prior to the conference kick-off the next day.  At the end of each day of the conference, a recording of each educational session will be uploaded to the Annual Conference site for attendees to access and replay. Due to CLE requirements, please know that CLE cannot be granted to attendees who only view session recordings, you must be actively participating online to receive credit.

Q: How will I earn credit for the educational sessions?

NAELA applied for or a “live” virtual event NOT an “on demand” event in all MCLE States.  Many state bars will NOT approve CLE credit unless the event is attended during its scheduled time.  We suggest you check with your state bar for specific information for your state’s participation requirements.  For those state’s requiring the attendee to record a participation code, every session will contain participation codes in the live, online presentation, if your state requires CLE Participation codes, be sure and jot them down during the presentations. A certificate of attendance will be provided to each registrant.  NAELA has provided a state-by-state grid of CLE credits granted and downloadable CLE form for you to self-report.
